Communications and Feb 6 Board Meeting

My first attempt at a vlog! On communications as a priority for me in 2023 and a recap of the Feb 6 village board meeting.

TL;DR / Key Points:

-Will be focusing on communication this year

• Thanks to Mgr Paul Boening and Asst Mgr Tom Harrigan for agreeing to include quick highlights of each committee and board meeting in the village e-newsletter (sign up here!)

• Bay Leaves is a wonderful concept as a magazine for the village, but the publisher, Best Version Media, will not allow the village more input into the content -> we owe it to our community to achieve a publication that is inclusive, informative, educational, and inspiring, not just an advertising mailer. More to come on this

-Thanks to Trustee Raisa Koltun, support from village staff, and unanimous approval by the village board at the Feb 6 meeting, Whitefish Bay will join the WI Local Government Climate Coalition, a consortium will allow our community to  get technical assistance and peer to peer learning so we can get ideas in developing and support in implementing climate change initiatives. It’s a huge step in the right direction for our community.
